What Will Your Daily Routine Look Like?

General Responsibilities of the Position

  • Control and evaluate parts and engines that do not meet standards, prescribe preliminary and final provisions according to the situation based on factors such as appearance, performance, safety, interchangeability, reliability, and functionality. When necessary, will evaluate parts on-site according to applicable guidelines and procedures.

  • Ensure that the non-conformance notice is accurate and that the information appearing therein correctly attests to the condition of the part and the disposition according to the applicable quality manual. Based on the information received, indicates acceptable limits and grants necessary authorizations. Submits deviations exceeding similar precedents and for which no similar provision is applicable. Uses computer systems required by their function (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Collaborates with production to correct quality issues. Participates in quality improvement clinics.

  • Participate in root-cause investigation groups for recurring problems. Suggest improvements to work techniques and methods to prevent the recurrence of anomalies. Communicates with planning, technical support, quality assurance, material control, and other departments to clarify and evaluate difficulties encountered regarding part quality. Imparts expertise to departments and individuals served by participating in problem analysis through visualization of the operation in action.

Specific Responsibilities of the Position

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts.

  • Set up, adjust, and use precision measuring instruments for dimensional checks. Visually checks parts, after non-destructive testing, to rule on defects indicated by particle deposits, fluorescent penetrant, or acid effect.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

  • DEC in machining techniques or a diploma in mechanical engineering or aeronautical construction (aerospace engineering)

  • Computer literacy: MS Office and SAP, an asset

  • Experience in metrology (two to five years)

  • Very good proficiency in blueprint reading

  • This position takes place in a French-speaking work environment, nonetheless it requires functional knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, blueprints, drawings, and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with clients, suppliers, or international colleagues.

  • High autonomy and resourcefulness

  • Interpersonal skills: teamwork and positive attitude

  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mind

  • Experience in an industrial environment

  • Knowledge of part classification rules - an asset
