What will your day look like?

General responsibilities

Inspect and evaluate parts and engines that do not meet standards; determine preliminary and final dispositions as appropriate based on factors such as appearance, performance, safety, interchangeability, reliability and functionality. When required, evaluate parts on site following applicable directives and procedures.
Ensure the non-conformance report is accurate and that the information reflects the condition of the part and the disposition according to the applicable quality manual. From received information, define acceptable limits and grant necessary authorizations. Submit deviations that exceed previous similar cases and for which no similar disposition applies. Use required computer systems (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Collaborate with production to correct quality issues. Participate in quality improvement clinics.
Participate in investigation groups for recurring issues. Recommend improvements to techniques and work methods to prevent recurrence of anomalies. Communicate with planning, technical support, quality assurance, material control and other departments to clarify and assess quality issues encountered with parts. Provide expertise to departments and personnel by participating in problem analysis through visualization of the operation in action.

Specific responsibilities

Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts.
Set up, adjust and use precision measuring instruments for dimensional checks. Visually inspect parts after non-destructive testing to assess defects indicated by particle deposits, fluorescent penetrant, or acid etch.

What you need to succeed

Vocational diploma (DEP) in machining techniques or degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical construction (aerospace engineering).
Computer skills: MS Office and SAP are assets.
Experience in metrology (two to five years).
Strong blueprint reading skills.
This position is based in a Francophone work environment; however, a functional knowledge of English is required to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms from international organizations, and to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
High autonomy and resourcefulness.
Interpersonal skills: teamwork and a positive attitude.
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
Experience in an industrial environment.
Knowledge of parts classification rules is an asset.
