About the Program

The Aircraft Engine Module Assembly and Disassembly program is offered by the École des métiers de l’aérospatiale de Montréal (EMAM) in partnership with FTAI Aviation.

Participants will learn the practical foundations of mechanical assembly, inspection, technical manual reading, rotor and module balancing, as well as the quality standards applied to CFM56 and V2500 engines.

Duration: 1,080 hours

Start date: September 2026

Training location: EMAM – 5300 Chauveau Street, Montréal, QC

Internship location: FTAI Aviation – 7171 Côte-Vertu Boulevard West, Montréal, QC

Compensation during training: $25/hour

Target position: CFM56/V2500 Engine Assembly Technician at FTAI Aviation’s Dorval facility

Cohort limited to 25 participants

Admission Requirements

Be eligible to study and work in Canada and reside in Québec

Hold a Secondary V diploma or equivalent

Have an intermediate level of English and French, including reading, writing and speaking, in order to understand technical manuals and write maintenance reports

Be available full-time for the entire duration of the program, 1,080 hours, starting in September 2026

Successfully complete the selection steps, including pre-screening, interview, tests and medical examination if required

Target Employment with FTAI Aviation

Graduates will have access to full-time employment with FTAI Aviation in Dorval as CFM56 and V2500 Engine Assembly Technicians*.

Main Responsibilities

Assembly and disassembly of engines and modules

Inspection and certification of turbine engines

Balancing of rotors and modules

Reading and interpretation of technical manuals, including CMM, AMM, SB, etc.

Production support and continuous improvement of processes
