Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, In-flight Services, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of Porter passengers while upholding the Flying Refined brand promise. The base of assignment and fleet type (Toronto Pearson YYZ or Toronto Billy Bishop YTZ) will be determined by the company according to operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all passengers
  • Effortlessly provide friendly and attentive service to ensure passenger comfort
  • Adhere to the standard operating procedures of your training, in accordance with Transport Canada and Porter policies
  • Perform the physical duties of a flight attendant, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and assisting passengers in emergencies
  • Tactfully manage unforeseen situations related to operations and passengers
  • Actively monitor the overall condition of the aircraft cabin and make necessary adjustments to maintain passenger safety or enhance their experience

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members
  • Actively participate in Porter's safety management system, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with, and promote the company's safety policy

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid Canadian passport or a valid international passport and an up-to-date US crew visa (C-1/D)
  • Be at least 19 years old at the time of employment
  • High school diploma
  • Mandatory fluency in French and English
  • At least two years of work experience with the public in a customer service position
  • Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and successfully complete the company's background check process
  • Ability to meet required medical standards (including alcohol and drug screening) and all physical requirements of the position
  • Successful completion of a five-to-six-week full-time training program with 100% participation and pass all written and practical assessments
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as a safety-oriented mindset and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Be able to work a rotating reserve schedule that includes weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights. Schedules and days off are assigned based on seniority through an online bidding system
  • Must be able to report to the assigned base airport within two hours of notice for flight duties.
