SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, lead and support the Montreal facilities (Ryan Road and Percival Reid).
  • Ensure projects/programs of work are executed safely, cost-effectively and efficiently, on schedule, and follow up on any related issues.
  • Maintain project/product warranties and manage any failures.
  • Arrange inspections and repairs with external vendors/contractors as required.
  • Supervise daily housekeeping, snow removal and landscaping activities and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Ensure external vendors'/contractors' safety, insurance and CAT/CNESST/CSPAAT requirements are up to date; ensure sign-in/sign-out and escorting of external contractors in accordance with Skyservice security policies.
  • Support the facilities ticketing system by confirming tickets are created and logged; use the system to assign work follow-up and escalate issues to the supervisor as needed.
  • Meet with local Operations service leaders to understand their needs; ensure facility work meets standards while providing exceptional internal customer service.
  • Participate in periodic progress reports and report to the supervisor as required.
  • Coordinate and assist with security, health and safety inspections.
  • Serve as a member of the health and safety committee.
  • Provide support for all quality assurance, security and safety activities for facility operations, including incident reporting, incident investigations and closure according to the Safety Management System.
  • Manage security access keycards in Montreal: issuance, return, verification and maintenance of keycards and card reader systems.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships and clear, transparent communication with Skyservice internal clients, including other departments, tenants and owners.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with Maintenance activities to ensure productive relationships.
  • Act as liaison with Montreal airport authorities (ADM).
  • Perform tasks according to established policies and procedures with primary consideration for the safety of colleagues, tenants and customers.
  • Inspect buildings, fire protection and life-safety elements and related items to ensure system functionality, identify deficiencies, security and fire-prevention and health/safety issues, perform troubleshooting and necessary repairs, and document observations and recommendations following established procedures and periodic checklists.
  • Perform and supervise minor maintenance tasks: electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of all facilities and ground handling equipment (as required), parts, tools, supplies and safety equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of effective facilities, safety and security training materials in collaboration with peers, the Safety Management System and training coordinators in Canada.
  • Regularly monitor members of the Line Service team to ensure they meet or exceed expectations.
  • Serve as deputy fire warden and deputy security officer.
  • Respond to emergency, fire and security situations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in facilities maintenance, operation and repair of ground handling equipment, or similar combination; aviation experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, as driving between sites and for other business purposes is required.
  • Regulated-area pass issued by local airport authorities considered an asset.
  • Intermediate understanding of electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security and HVAC systems.
  • Experience operating light and medium equipment and proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of equipment types.
  • Must be resourceful, safety- and customer-service oriented, and able to assess objectively, fairly and consistently.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must accept a flexible work schedule across Montreal facilities as required.
  • Must be on-call as needed.
